Don't you love a good collaboration? Especially when it's a GOOD one. Well Diplo+Switch got together and came up with the concept of a Jamaican super hero, and birthed was Major Lazer. The epitome of a man: Funky, schizophrenic, club-friendly, potheaded, Auto-Tuned, a father, and a womanizer. It's Diplo giving the people what they want and Switch giving us Americans an out of body experience. We're Major Lazer's fans singing his praises as we shake and gyrate in a Jamaican dance-hall. Major Lazer keeps the creepy, rhythm less, blood-sucking vampires aweigh.
No need to say how deep I think this song is, but Lauryn is speaking the truth. Her approach is real. It may be a little too real for people to understand. They understand from the hood state of mind, and her words are scholarly. I guess scholars need to hear this the most.
I'm not a fan, but I gotta look out for my fellow brotha and shine a little light on something weird. Someone is posting a lot of stuff on youtube with the titles of his songs and really songs done by others. All in all, a sweet ass person. Other than working with M.I.A., he's worked with Santigold, Three '6 Mafia, etc. His podcast "Mad Decent: Worldwide Radio" is sick. You can hear mash ups of Erykah Badu and Busta Rhymes over a Led Zeplin bass line mixed with some Baile Funk beats. I love this guy! He's coming to Cleveland on the 18th and you best believe I'll be in the house!

Last night was the 51st Annual Grammy Awards. I was highly disappointed when Robert Plant and Alison Krauss kept stealing Grammys from deserving artists. "Paper Planes" lost Record of the Year to these two randoms. Then I was mad when "Swagga Like Us" won in the category where M.I.A. doesn't count, and lost in the category where she gets writing credit to "Lollipop"! PISSIN ME OFF.

Did you know...Chris Brown beat Rihanna down? They were leaving the Pre-Grammy party Saturday night, when I was out kicking it when he I guess got it poppin on Rihanna's forehead. A witness called the police "Chris Brown just kicked Rihanna's ass." he was arrested, and bail was set at $50,000 (LA made that money). He posted and now he has to do some major PR and she has to make an album about how she overcame domestic violence...it'll make MILLIONS...not to mention the tell-all book. U go Rihanna. Gettin beat up was the best thing you've done since get that hair cut.
This year's World AIDS Day I want to take time to pray and remember those who have died from this horrible disease. This is a serious epidemic tearing down the black and gay community as well as innocent children born with it and innocent by standards who some how come in with the disease. Everyone who is sexually active should know their status. I've never been as concerned with this day as this year, but in the past year I have come to find out that a lot of people I know have HIV. These are people just like me and you who just weren't as responsible as they should have been and all of us are just as much at risk as they were.

I Knew Naomi was the first one to do this b/c c'mon, who'd jock off Whitney?
